Started with a yellowish brown and just worked up adding white to the mix, slopped over a couple of thinned down washes of citadel shade, agrax and sepia I think.

Thanks Bugsda. I will have to give it a try. I have a bunch of Crusader Templars waiting to be painted, but I was unsure how to do the cloth...so I put them on the back burner...well in fact I took them right off the stove and stored them away as I was afraid of screwing them up...still am, but I will eventually give it a try...

Yeah, give it a go, if you mess up you can always repaint them. Make sure the washes are well thinned with a medium like Lahmium or Quickshade, it flows better over a gloss varnish.
