15mm archaeologists?
« on: October 22, 2019, 06:49:43 AM »
Hi folks,

I am aware Blue Moon do a pack of 15mm archaeologists and also explorers in their African range. Are there any other companies that do simmilar things?

I'm in the EU, so sadly US postal prices will probably exclude American manufacturers unless the minis are particularly impressive.

Cheers for any help!

Nic,
I would browse through Colonial, WWI and II, and Pulpy ranges,  MiniFigs, Irregular and Peter Pig for instance.

I got my Indiana Jones from Rebel miniatures.  They also have a variety of pulp characters.

Khurasan has some good minis in their pulp range too.

I use a British Office from Eureka Miniatures WW I section, as a Professor;

https://eurekaminusa.com/collections/world-war-i-british-in-sinai-15mm/products/300hbc82-british-infantry-officer-coming-soon

Plus I have this set and another from Brigade Games USA, (Not Brigade Models UK)

https://www.brigadegames.com/15mm-Adventurers-Character-Pack_p_447.html

Plus I have many of Rebel Minis, Khurasan Minis, Peter Pig Minis and I almost forgot other Eureka Minis.

Armed WW II Sailor set, as a backup unit or rescue as needed (the set also comes with two Sailors with Thompson SMG, and two Officers)

Currently working on getting some British Naval Infantry.

Great suggestions there. Never considered those WWI officers - the Turkish officer wearing a fez might work too...

Cheers folk!

I found the Eureka Sinai British are bigger that the Eureka USA sailors.
Got both, both very nice.

He’s actually from hasslefree’s range of kids called Bat Kiernan.  He’s a little on the big side but works well with 15mm miniatures.

Doesn't Old Glory 25s have a UK stockiest?  Not sure if they carry the Bluemoon 15/18 mm range.

Curious though: I buy from the UK quite often, Australia sometimes, other locations once and a while.  Yeah, the shipping is a lot more than it used to be but not unworkable.  Used to be about 20%, now can reach 40% but for a small order, shipping rates of old could be 50% or more.  Not sure I understand the reluctance to buy from overseas.

When you are buying a single pack of something in the order of £5 or less, and postage adds £10 (as it very often does), you have to ask yourself if it is worth it.

I picked up four second hand archaeologists chaos (well, 3 chaps and a lady) second hand. I know two of them are Rebel, not sure about the other two. I'll be back when they arrive and get painted... :)

Incidentally,  Kong Island, dino hunting, and the Mummy type adventures, do I post them here or through Gothic Horror?

The Captain looking guy is from Old Glory 15mm Supers.
https://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/proddetail.asp?prod=S15A

He's a very well done figure but is closer to the 15mm end of figures.
Fits very well size wise with the Rebel minis pulp and the Eureka Sailors.
