I feel we are drifting from Archeologists.
But here's a pic of the Captain, Rebel Minis Nazi Zombie officer and Eureka sailor for comp purposes.
They're still WIP. (Have been for a while. I really should finish them)

Where are you thinking of having your Archaeologists working? Middle East? Far East ? The Americas?
There are various 15mm figures from Irregular (Tusk and WWI ranges)
Minifigs has a few figures in their WWI ranges of Artillery officers and crew which might yield something of use.
Also D&D miniatures have a Scarab swarm painted in a nice metallic blue and black colour.

Middle East and lost world contexts.

I was tempted be those scarabs but the base is very high I think, to look right next to my little chaps.

Yes I had to sand down the bases until it was flat.

Black Cat Games also have scarabs. They are up and running again.

I'm sorted now with my homemade scarabs, but for 28mm players, those Blackcat ones are great!

I've a few more bits and pieces painted up, including dinosaurs and a cat (to scare the mummies!).

Those look sweet!

Also, I've been a successful 15mm archaeologist too.  Found a stash of Baueda DBA armies on an expedition down to my basement not too long ago.
