40mm 13th Cuirassiers in Spain 1812.
« on: October 18, 2019, 11:34:18 AM »
Latest addition to my 40mm collection, these are Sash & sabre cuirassiers painted to represent the 13th regiment which I understand were the only unit to serve in Spain. They appear to have worn drab brown coats with maroon facings which make a nice change from the standard uniform. Some references show baggy trousers too but I went with breeches and boots because they look so much smarter!

Reins had to be added from thin black card after painting. They are finished in a Vallejo satin varnish as is my entire collection of approaching 550 figures. Basing is in 4's (cavalry) 12 infantry or 6/7 skirmishers or single gun and crew, everything is on standard 120mm frontage.

Very nice.

With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Thank you :)

That completes my 'phase 1' cavalry both French & British for now. I do enjoy 40mm scale figures, I especially like the characterful faces.
