Cruel seas Destroyer and Coastal Batteries (and U Boat 30/10)

A converted German Zerstorer (1/350 Trumpeter) to provide something for enemy torpedos to target.

There were a lot of left over guns, so I used some other scraps and leftovers to make a couple of coast batteries

Achtung Schweinswal!  lol ;)

Very nicely done, a fine piece of work. Those coastal batteries are also a nice touch.

Nice, I especially like the coastal battery but that U-boat is sitting a bit high in the water unless it’s in dry dock.

Very nice. They scale up well. The U boat is riding a bow wave from the looks of things? Is that a plastic kit?

If they opened the valves to blow (empty) the ballast tanks too fast then the sub could leap out of the water like that.

They're not meant to be airborne!

Yeah, the idea was to have it moving at speed. I was initially going to waterline the model at rest, but it had such a low profile it looked like nothing on the table, so I used the cover art of the model box which shows the bow raised as it crests rough seas to gauge the new waterline, then I greenstuffed the bow wave and wake as a sort  of base for the model ( as seen here http://www.manapress.com.au/cruel-seas-coastal-batteries-and-destroyer/ )

German U boats seem to ride pretty high at rest as well, unlike modern subs.
