Bizarre post - apocalypse comedy series on Netflix.

The biology teacher in episode two is, well something to see...

Barbarella: What's that screaming? A good many dramatic situations begin with screaming...

It is worth watching if you have Netflix, I probably would not start a subscription just for it (I will let you know if I would buy it on VHS ^__^).

Whether it can continue to amuse will depend on the writing. Episode 3 changes the POV/narrator in an amusing manner.

Imagine Ferris Bueller vs The Apocalypse (with Matthew Broderick as the principle). Oh, Matthew Broderick is the principle.

It name checks the usual suspects (including New Zealand's "The Tribe" - which had the bizarre Five localisation with a very scabby fifty pence piece, and some accidental ex--BR coaches), and subverts/averts a number of their tropes.

Beyond the aforementioned Principle, the lead (episodes one and two) is searching for the love of his life, Sam Dean (Sophie Simnett) is played by Colin Ford - who also played the young Sam Winchester.

I finished season 1 a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say I was oddly mesmerized by it. At times it's not so much Ferris Bueller, as it becomes 90210, but it never failed to entertain me. All post-apoc tropes you know and love are being revisited, and the intro sequences are getting more and more creative throughout.

Also, the flashbacks get zanier throughout the series (with a flashback running through somebody else's flashback, who then comment: 'you weren't even here for this!' lol ), the 4th wall is frequently broken, and the story line, even though sort of bogs down a bit at about 2/3 through the season has enough turns and twists to keep entertaining.

It's probably not everyone's cuppa, but I was thoroughly amused and will certainly be checking out season 2 (if only because the finale's ending was quite the 'Whoa' moment :D )...

Watched a few episodes but just couldn't get into it.
The premise starts off well but then fades away.

I felt the same Inkpaduta, felt dirty watching it. And it bogs down into a high school drama more than anything. I will probably finish it while painting lol

I liked it.
Wondering what they'll do in season two.
The teacher steals the show.

My wife talked me into watching this, I'm a few episodes in. Not quite sure what to think about it yet, it's an odd one!
