15mm IS-2s
« on: July 07, 2009, 05:35:15 AM »
Hi all

I painted these 15mm FOW tanks a week or so ago. I was trying out some difference weathering and washing techiques (using oils for the first time). They are pretty heavily weathered but I like them that way.  I've brought some decals to replace the hand painted numbers so i'll upload some more pictures soon.

Next I'm going to paint some T-34/85s and BA-64s

Cheers
Kieran

I like those a lot - nice and varied tones.

Excellent work. They look like tanks. Much better than those super clean painted wargaming tanks that you see much too often.

Absolutely stunning Kieran. They look frighteningly real.

If I were you I wouldn't replace your handpainted numbers with decals. They add tremenduously to the overall 'worn' effect that you obviously wanted to achieve.

Thanks for the comments.

I've already painted over the numbers as its the one thing I didnt like.  :-I One of the reasons was that I tried to cover them with some weathering but it didnt come out as well as other parts of the tanks.

Cheers
Kieran
