Battle of Malplaquet, 1709. Post of Honour 25/28mm
« on: October 31, 2019, 03:32:35 PM »
Back in September at New Buckenham we refought the Battle of Malplaquet from 1709 during the War of Spanish Succession. We used 25/28mm figures and the Post of Honour Rules.

This was a special game as it utilised the figures and terrain of the late Adrian "Shep" Shepherd who passed away before being able to game this battle. Thanks to his partner we were able to game it in his memory.

A great game and fitting memorial we think.

Majestic board! Must have taken a giant effort to be done!
And a game played in grand manner!
It is always sad to lose a good friend and this game was a fine tribute to his memory.
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. – Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Looks great!
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss
