Another jolly playtest game from Lard Island.  This time Centurion Publicus Thermae was on patrol seeking information regarding the whereabout of the Legate Suetnoius Porcinus.  A hard fought game which swung one way and t'other before swinging no more.

Great stuff! The rules really seem to give the proper feel to Romans vs. barbarians. Looking forward to more.

I am looking for a skirmish (ish) set of ancient rules.
To excuse buying &/or painting some more Romans/ Barbarians.

What size table do you need for these rules?

The table in our game was 6 by 4, but we didn't use all of it.  I'm experimenting with 4 by 4 to see how that works.

Another quick one - what are the current basing sizes? I notice the Romans are in nice, tidy blocks of 8 and the Barbarians in 10's (which a bit of irregular ranking). Are they on 2p's/25mm, or smaller? And where the heck did you get those Sabots for the Barbarians?
