Pirates and Spanish Troops
« on: December 21, 2019, 10:04:58 PM »
I finished some Foundry pirates and some Wargames Factory (now Warlord Games) WSS troops that will stand in for Spanish/English/Dutch/French troops.  Had a blast painting them and I will definitely be getting some more pirates and a box of WSS cavalry and artillery.  Scale wise they match up pretty well I think.  Now I just need some fortifications...and some boats.

If you wish to know, there is a web in which you can check the spanish marines true colours of the period (the last period of the tercios prior to the SWS). They were quite colourful.

Thank you all.  I definitely plan on getting more pirates. I feel that one can never have too many pirates or gladiators  :D  I wanted them nice and bright with a touch of Hollywood thrown in.
@OSHIROmodels, I really like how the mustard color coats turned out. I was a little worried when I finished them and showed them to my wife.  She asked if they would be fighting in the rain.  I said that it's possible cause it does rain in the Caribbean. Why?  She said "Because they are wearing raincoats"  :?
@Yuber Okami, I did see a few websites that listed some uniform suggestions, but they all said that there were no set uniform colors for this timeframe. The only two that I saw were a mustard color coat and a white coat. I decided to go with the first one as it's more colorful  :D
@Calimero, I saw that too.  My dad, who is my gaming partner, wants to build something similar to the small fort in St.Augustine.

Well, at least now she knows  :)

What was the recipe?
