 My first metal figures were Minifigs and Hinchliffe Napoleonics circa 1978. Happy days! ;D

Yep.. me too. possibly even slightly earlier. Hinchcliffe Royal Scots Greys, painted by me (somewhat unsuccessfully) using oil paints.
