6mm Mega Thread Stuff Im making

6mm... It has a lot of potential. With more and more large scale figure wargames moving to smaller and smaller battles focusing on individuals, 6mm seems to be the last bastion of large wargaming! In a paradoxical sort of way.
...and so I start this thread with stuff I'm cooking up with my band of free-lancers and my little hobby business.
Today I've been messing around with some earthworks. They don't look like much yet but someones got to do something to keep the Vikings out!

I'm with you on this Rob -- I'm doing posse games in 28mm, as well as larger skirmish Lardy stuff.
But really finding the mass stuff more appealing in 6mm, tho I'm a new convert to the scale.
As much as I
love
my AB 18mm Naps, I half wish I'd have done that period in 6mm as well.

Not much hobby time, aging eyes etc etc means I have never really considered 6mm but I am invested in your post already... especially as you mentioned Vikings which would be one of the last subjects I would consider for 6mm.
I usually paint armies of 30 - 50 figures in 28mm so you are probably right about 6mil being the last bastion of bigger games... please show more.

I still see nothing wrong with huge sweeping armies in 28 mm.
Skirmishers can bugger off :-)

10mm for mine; I have done a LOT of 6mm in my time, but I do like gorgons on my hoplite shields, tartans on my kilts, and the like. 10mm can do pretty big battles.
This is a variant preference. I do not speak in hostility to 6mm. For decades they gave me an affordable way to do big battles.
Curiously, I'm presently doing my camp for the 10mm Viking army I have under the brush. In the words of Viljar Vandrikkar, "Wanna play?"

I'll tolerate 6mm for big armor games, but I still find it unimpressive on the table. Essentially brail. Might as well play a board game.
15mm still retains some personality.

Ta-dar!
Now just to square off the outer which will be the inner... peg it back together... clean it up and send it off to get a load of casts. Then all the other pieces can be made.

The operation seems to be successful. I've added some more milliput, Ill need to file, sand and add a little more and then its done.
