Very old Zulus
« on: November 19, 2019, 03:15:50 PM »
Found my very old horrible Zulu collection from the late 70's. Decided to lay them out on table for one last time before they either go in the trash or on ebay.
It's hard to believe this is what we used to use.

I was going to say enjoy, but maybe, have a laugh would suit better   lol

Reminds me of the Minifig Zulu Wars (small collection) I had back in the early 1980s. Nothing wrong with nostalgia, I still enjoy seeing photos of old collections, it brings back happy memories. :)

Don't throw them out! Those are all Hinchcliffe figures, you should be able to sell them pretty easily. They deserve a better fate than the trash can.

They look good to me. I used to have the mini figs and hinchcliffe figures myself back in the day before I sold them on. Far too good to throw away and yes brings back memories!!!

I like old figures. A lot of character, so to me they look great.

I'm sure you'd be able to find someone willing to give them a home and pay you for the privilege!

Your embarrassment is indeed ill-founded. My forces consisted of 20-odd Jacklex Brits & 5 indunas, with the rank and file Zulus from the Airfix Tarzan set, all gloss painted. They were later replaced, firstly with the Esci Zulu war sets, then some Ral Partha packs, though they don't really count as I never got around to painting them, let alone playing with them. In fact only the Jacklex / Airfix figures got played with much.

I agree with Petercooman.
The lads at my school club would love anything like that,
and I feel sure lots of others would too.

Trash!  Hunh?  Are you suffering from some odd malady!?  :?

A spray will dullcoat and some work on the bases and there are huge numbers of people who would be delighted to have those PAINTED figures in their collections (some already weighed in here).

They look great to me. I'm about to sell my old 20mm Zulu War stuff (replacing with shiny new 28mm). Hopefully there is a market for this stuff!

Better not mention my 600 Esci plastic Zulus dancing about in  corner of the Emporium...
Seeing them'd give Clawed a right attack of the vapours!

They look great and they have a lot of character as previously said.
And you took some excellent pictures! Cheers!
