Showdown at McGinty Flats
Just a another quiet day down in McGinty Flats ... or is it? Sheriff Wiley will be glad when the gold shipment from the Baxter Mine is on the stage and heading up to McGinty's Crossing. Hopefully it should be loaded and on it's way. then it'll be Marshall Cogburn's problem to keep the shipment safe.
A Sunday afternoon showdown with four posses of 5 men each, a single Bounty Hunter and a trio of Mexican Bandits, what could possibly happen to the gold shipment ? An everyday game of "Fistful of Lead" ...
The town of McGinty Flats ... peaceful and a bit down at heel ...
At least the stockyard is full with cattle waiting to go east ...
... and the Stagecoach is ready for the gold shipment
The Pinkertons arrive, but tickets must still be inspected.
The Pinkertons move towards the stockyard - looks like some scheming is going on.
Little Bill moves the waggon, whilst Preacher Trye prepares to stampede the cattle.
A couple of shot gun blasts and their running; the gate is broken and the longhorns are heading out of town - the long way. Unfortunately the Stagecoach has finished loading the gold and has just set off up Main Street heading for the stampeding herd.
A clash is inevitable...
Elsewhere, shots are exchanged between the Marshal's posse and Rogan's Roughs.
Meanwhile, the Renegade Pinkertons take out the Driver and Shotgun Rider and also taken on Lawyer Dagget from Marshal Cogburns posse (who soon succumbs to a rifle shot in the back from the Rogan's Rough's leader, "Boss" Jenkins)
The longhorns charge out of town, spurred on by the shrill of the steam whistle as the east bound express arrives at the depot ..
Most of the Sheriff's and the Marshal's posses end up as residents of Boot Hill, leaving the town (and the gold) in the hands of the Renegade Pinkertons and Rogan's Roughs.
