What's with the Error 504 Gateway Timeout error notices?
« on: November 25, 2019, 04:56:46 PM »
It's not just on one thread, but on almost every existing one I'm trying to post to... >:(

Once, I got around it by shortening a post with the removal of a paragraph, but doesn't seem to work here.

This is something which I've encountered sporadically for at least a few days now. Mostly whilst viewing threads or sending private messages (which prompted me to check if there was a thread on this error). Typically the issue occuring whilst transitioning from one page to another - preceeded with the page hanging after making the transition request, and then after maybe a minute or two receiving the error.

The issue's present on more than one system / browser (Chrome/ Firefox). Clearing the cache / re-opening the browser / switching wi-fi networks doesn't seem to make a difference. The fault's intermittent, but when it occurs it seems to consistently happen before I just give up and return to LAF after a few hours.

Oh, and I have noticed that as far as PMs go its inconsistent whether the message is sent or not. I.e. if I receive the error whilst sending the message, then check my sent mail - it may be sent, it may not be.

I tend to get the fault when I add images to a post. The weird thing is if I stay logged in that post is MIA.
However if I logout and close the tab. Then return to the forum. The damned thing is there in 'Recent' complete with the pictures.
It's become that common . That I logout automatically when the error appears.(It's not the norm but a regular if erratic bugbear that's catches me out especially when its a chunk of text and photo's.)

I just hit this error while attempting to load a new post. I was not posting anything.  Couldn't get LAF home page to load either for about a minute.  Maybe site maintenance on the cloud hosting sites systems?

I'm experiencing this too.  As soon as I put an image in a reply then it times out.

Had it with posts at times, as well as the pm's. Just to add to the above. Oddly enough, upon refreshing the site it sometimes says I was about to double post.
Also agree on the problems described above.

Er, um, and your avatar as it appears here (on Firefox 71.0, iMac, Mojave)...

...confirms what I had already mentioned here:

It's not really a big issue, I can do without, but I thought it should be told.

Patrice. I don't have an Avatar.

That's strange. On Chrome you don't seem to have an avatar, indeed.

On Firefox I see nothing under the name and title of forum members who don't seem to have an avatar, but under yours I see a broken link (screen picture above) and my Firefox tool, which cannot display it, says you avatar address in your profile is

But that's probably a different issue from the other I mentioned in the other link.  ;)
