Very well contructed charactors. Cant wait to see them painted. Any thoughts on how the palette to be used?

Painting is begun. I'm going for autumn leaves type colours, earthy reds, oranges and yellows supplemented with brown and a little bit of green.

Little bit of painting done, and testing out basing. I do need to drop more pva on those leaves, they come of pretty easy at the moment.

The Lords of the Wild can field a unit of Levy called the Swarm, which represent any type of small animal you want. For my rangers I settled on dogs, partially because I had the models already. Half of them are Gripping Beast irish hounds, and the other half are Crooked Dice dogs that I used for Frostgrave. Rebased and touched up the paint jobs. There is a spare model in there as I had 7 irish hounds, and didn't want to leave one unpainted.

Really good looking dogs - like the autumn leaves - and think this will be a good colour scheme across the force.

The kit bashed models look good too.

Just a small interlude, I have finally put finishing touched on the minis for my current DnD party. We have a Fire Genasi rogue, a human paladin, a tabaxi monk, a human cleric (my character) and a human bard who really wants to be Batman.

And an upcoming gift for the DM, as we're playing a giant-themed campaign. That's a 60 mm base for scale reference. Wizkids Frost Giant:

Brilliant use of the Shieldwolf minis.  This is going to be an amazing warband.

These are fantastic! I'm working on a ranger-themed Lords of the Wild warband myself and this is great inspiration, though I'm taking mine in a more "Robin Hood" than "Middle-Earth" direction. In your experience how do the Northstar plastics compare to the Perry plastics proportion-wise? I've used Gripping Beast, Perry, and Warlord parts together and it looks natural but I'm not sure if Northstar leans more in the Games Workshop heroic proportions direction.

Thank you! North Star does lean more heroic than Perry and the strictly historical, but not all the way to GW town. You can definitly mix them, but not all parts will work as well. I decided not to use any bow arms from the Oathmark humans, as they do look fairly different to the Perry longbows. Check out my Game of Thrones thread for more kitbashing, I use a lot of Perry and Frostgrave there.

And Koyote, thank you! Looking forward to seeing updates of your Saga projects as well.

The Wild Hunt are tenuous allies to the Guardian Rangers. Druidic and capricious they are as likely to hunt intruders as innocent wanderers who stray off the path.

Test model for mounted hearthguard with composite bows. Kitbashed from GW Wild Riders, with Oathmark elf weapons and a Victrix viking head for that wild look. I cut down the silly antler crown on the deer and just stuck the antlers to the side of his head instead. May need a little bit of greenstuff to fill some gaps, but overall I feel it has come together really well.

What do you think?

Seems to be update Sunday. I've also managed to finish basing the first couple of models for both units.

As you can see the ombre effect on the cloaks are reversed for the male and female models. Should help a bit with quick identification in game.

Thank you all! I've managed to build a second Wild Huntsman today. Temporarily based for painting.
