Two Suns Brotherhood 15mm scifi
« on: November 30, 2019, 08:35:45 PM »
Hello again all,
A brotherhood of human soldiers of fortune, hailing fro a planet with 2 suns.
Ion Age minis, scratchbuilt mechs & vechicles.
3 of the mecha are shield bearers ( magnetised) designed to absorb fire aimed at the troops hiding behind them. The other 3 have missile launchers and all 6 have energy cannons.

Enjoy... more pics in blog

Pretty cool stuff - as always from you. I like the dirtiness of those and those ramshackle robots are really ace.

Thanks for the praise Divismal. ;)
I had a grey undercoat spray can which wasn't spraying well as it was sputtering & could not be fixed. So I used it to create the spatter camo then a wash of blue black w&n ink to smooth it together.
The vehicles were painted with different shades of ink washes.

All were painted on a black base.

I finished these along with the 2 other armies which I have posted.  I like to paint on different items at the same time so as not to get bored. :D
Painting minis should never be boring but alas Basing is becoming a tedious job  :(.

Still, bit by bit will give results.

Gunner, Divismal......This is the mecha ...... mostly grey  sprue , bits of white plastic spoon handle for the weapon, torso  & head , lead ball eyes.

Not going to say that it is easy to do ....... but if you do try it out you will realise it is not difficult.

and this is the cmd atv

This needs more work but basically it is wood blocks, card & marker cap wheels.

Scratch building at its finest, yet to do a spru mech/robot.

Thanks guys  :D

You should try gunner. Choose the straightest sprues , the ones with the least channels coming out  of them so as to save on shaving & filing off. Check cross sectional shape so as to have different sizes.
Glue them together back to back to have thicker peices.
If you need help just ask.

Those are all great looking, I love all of your scratch building stuff!  :-*

The wheels on the vehicles, did you cast those?

Thanks Fy05 .

The wheels are cut off marker caps. You're right I had to cast some as I ran out of them.
Just a simple press mould.
