Both entries are superb! So many great painters in the LAF. So inspirational.

I agree. Tough choice.  Both of these are awesome.

Both are great! I mean it as a compliment to say that both entries look as if more effort went into building and painting the background and its inhabitants than the figures that are the subject of each entry.

Thanks all  :D

Ah, but...... speaking for only myself (of course) figures get to directly compete only the once but the terrain will have appeared in 9 of the 10 rounds. Also, every figure from the ‘supporting cast’  comes from an earlier team. Basically I’ve just used the LPL to make big strides with a single project so what I guess I’m really trying to say is that while the components of the image might seem excessive for a 5 mini painting play-off, they’re really just evidence of how productive the LPL can be.   8)
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 0
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Well I certainly would not say "excessive"!  Both backgrounds add to the atmosphere of the pictures without distracting from the miniatures themselves. And even if the backgrounds were not painted especially for this challenge, they were very nicely done at some point, and it is clear great care was taken with the composition. The LPL seems a excellent idea, maybe I will pluck up the courage to enter next time.

“Excessive” was a poor choice of word on my part, as I know it was not what you were suggesting.  ::) Sorry.  :) I’m glad you’re  enjoying the league (I find it best not to think of it as a competition  lol)

Thank goodness we are not really judged on terrain. Silent Invader and Captain Blood have wonderful terrain boards that are well detailed in other posts. Definitely check those out if you have not already.

Two exceptional entries both brilliantly painted

Who makes the woman in blue saying and the rat was so big.  Also I keep looking at the bespectacled lady on the right and she reminds me of someone - Is she based on a character?

Thanks  :)

“The rat was this big”. Excellent  :D  lol
She’s by Bad Sqiddo, Cara The Witch. She had some sort of familiar in her raised hand so I cut it off and replaced it to create the gesture shown.

Both of the ladies’ maids are by Casting Room Miniatures, from The Working Class pack.I've no idea who they are based on I’m afraid.
