Different ways of doing tree foliage - a tutorial

My home made trees based on Woodland Scenics armatures have served me well but have suffered the wear and tear of constant storage, transport and gaming. While I was carrying out repairs I decided to also try a different method for the foliage, so I've combined my original method with the new method into a single tutorial that some might find useful.
