Some pics from a CofC game
« on: December 05, 2019, 12:50:30 AM »
Here are some pictures taken from a Chain of Command game. The Italians were attacking an objective held by a mixed bag of Brits and Indians.

Great looking game, very atmospheric. That being said, I personally would have appreciated a bird's eye view of the battlefield.

Great looking miniatures and scenery. Great to see some less common troops too. Thank you for sharing. :-)

What was the game's outcome?

May I ask what make are the Italians?
They look very nice and full of character.

Many thanks.
The Italians are superb figures from Empress Miniatures. A couple of Perry's are there as well and blend perfectly. The guy kneeling on the right of the top picture is a Perry ;)

I've managed to create a whole platoon plus plenty of supports, mortars, tripod mg's, AT rifles and armour. I forgot to mention, some of the figures are by Warlord games. They also fit perfect with Empress and Perry. They are early figures before WG started doing the seperate heads. I think they were also sculpted by Paul Hicks?

I'm really enjoying using the Italians in CoC, they make a nice change from the same old SS and Fallschirmjager games ;)

I had not thought of Empress (and with Rubicon working on some Italian tanks I have started looking at some Perry Eighth army compatible  Italians).

Nice looking figures and vehicles by the way.

Looks like a great game  :o One doesn’t see Italians on a table all that often, which is a real shame. May I ask who won?

A very enjoyable game. The Italians won. The Brits and Indian force morale dropped too low, so they had no choice but give up the hill.  The Sikhs put up the best fight, only losing one man the entire game. The Italians put out a hell of a lot of firepower, and having two leaders per squad they can manage shock very well.

Looks great, and coincidentally, I am building an Italian platoon as well using the Empress sculpts. It's nice to know the other ranges are compatible. I notice that like Moiterei's Italians, you have something of a blue tinge to the uniform, can I ask what colours you used?

Colours used are all Vallejo. Uniform is Olive Grey 888. Highlight by adding Light Grey 990 (Don't use white!) The Olive Grey when highlighted gives off the bluish tinge of the Italian cloth. Add more Light Grey to create the lighter officers uniform. Use Grey Green 866 for the grey webbing and pouches. Hope this helps ;)
