Please Help Me Find Skyclad Spellcaster Figures
« on: December 12, 2019, 12:11:00 AM »
I'm noodling around with a bit of a homebrew rpg/ miniature skirmish set of rules and one of the classes receive bonuses for casting spells while "skyclad" (aka naked) or at least nearly naked. I'd like to paint up a few miniatures to represent those folks.

Now, it's pretty easy to find miniatures of attractive young women spellcaster types (indeed I may in fact already have a few of those), but it's been a bit harder to find naked male spellcasters or indeed naked-and-a-bit-older-ladies miniatures. So I turn to you, the good folk of LAF, to see if you have any recommendations. I'm comfortable with basic conversions (head swaps and equipment swaps, basically), so candidates for those would be welcome

I know that Hasslefree has a few male spell casters and a handful of naked dollies that could probably do the trick. I also know that Victrix has an "Ancient Gallic Naked Fanatics" box that could serve as a basis for conversions, but it has 24 minis in it which seems a bit overkill to be honest. Beyond that, I've drawn a bit of a blank. I've had no luck with naked female figures who are past the peak of sexual attraction in age.

Do you have any leads?

My first thought was Hasslefree, especially as they often provide three or more variants of sculpts in various states of dress (or undress).

Warlord Games has some druids to consider, including the chap with the antlers on his head:

Gorgon Studios has a hag

I'm pretty sure Hasslefree does as well.

I have a Hag in the Lorun section of my Tekumel range:

Also a ritual set. All on 40% off ATM:

Thanks for the help - I learned of some new manufacturers to day, which is always great ^_^

I was aware of Warlord/ Hail Caesar (no really), but hadn't spotted that druid chap. He's perfect.

Hasslefree is (as I'm sure you already know) much better provided with attractive young female nudes, but there are a few skyclad guys:

Matthias Skyclad - this one's a painter, but hey, couldn't be easier to make a wand out of the brush:

Eamond Skyclad resin - might be a cheaper metal versions somewhere on the store

Kevinicus and some of the dollies might also be suitable for conversions.

Two ranges that may acts as conversion bases:

Cavemen - sometimes with the classic loincloth, sometimes nude.  I do like these but the pack leaves you two figures that you may not need / use.

Amazon - fighters often nude with basic or limited equipment.

Wargames Foundry do nekkid Ancient Germans (and vikings?) in various poses which might have potential. Some of the darkest Africa witch doctors are just in loincloths, and includes a hag type. There is also a larger lady in just a loin cloth in one of the Chief packs that might be useful for adding some more diverse body tupes

Copplestone have caveman characters
4 figures in loincloth 1 with bow but 3 that could perhaps be shamans:

Or some of their African figures such as the Dinka, wear nothing but a feather in the hair:

NorthStar have a weird sorcerer and evil priestess:

Brigade have some Celtos figures including Druids in loin cloths like this chap:
