Contact front - new modern skirmish rules
« on: December 12, 2019, 08:10:25 AM »
Just noticed these rules have come out.
I can only find one aar, but it comments there are plenty of reviews of the rules on the web - well I can’t find them, can anyone help ?
Has anyone else used these new rules ?
They look like a viable alternative to too fat lardies “missing in action “ fighting season rules.
Cheers

I have a set though not played them yet. You are very much correct the rules do fill that fighting season gap in systems. My mate has a quick review of his first game and we are working up a campaign/tour of duty style

The rules have only been released for a couple of weeks, UK hard copies are now I believe being sold through elheim otherwise odd or hard copy from publisher in US. There is an active Facebook group if you use that with play throughs etc. The author is very communicative on the group

Thanks for the info.
Dougies blog was the only one that I could find, with a play through.

Contact front rules have arrived. Just looking at the photos in the rules, has got my juices flowing.
So with these rules turning up for modern-ish Afghanistan, and the kids buying me the core rules for Fist full of lead, that I want to use for ultra modern, I have a few questions to LAF-ers out there....
I want to wargame these periods in 20mm, as I already have talaban and Brits. I’ve bought more 20mm modern figures from RH Models too.
I want to know if anyone knows of a cheap source of 20mm hummers ?
I also want to know where people have sourced Afghan trees from, as they look scrawny on the photos I have seen.
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks.

If you tell me how long a Humvee would be in 20mm I will keep an eye open
at the cheap/charity shops. Not another Di-cast fare for a while though.

Make your own trees.   Use florist wire 14” long will give you trees about 4-5” high.  Cover in liquid latex then add foliage as you like it.  Us3 only about 15 strands per tree for scrawny.

Now played a couple of games seem to work well probably best set if Helmand is what you're wanting to do.
