More progress.

Building the turrets. The first is a skylight/observation blister. A cut off nail will pin the turret to the roof.

The completed skylight blister.

The second is a gun turret.

The completed gun turret.

A better view of the rear. Stairs still to be built.

The top panel detailing has been added. Seen here with the gun turret.

And with the observation blister.

Going to work a bit on the Build Something Contest now.

With so many amazing builds around here lately, I’m going to have to give it a go myself soon.  Great work.

wow, that is incredible! How long does it take from start to finish for you to create something like that?

Only if it is a crashed version of this ship!!

Thanks all.

@Bahir  I wild guesstimate it at 16 lazy hours* I will try to track it next time as I am curious myself.
* lazy hours being 15 minutes here, 2 hours there all while watching shows so not 100% concentrating on the build therefore I'm not really sure.

Only if it is a crashed version of this ship!!
   Shhhh ;)

Wonderful ship, cant wait to see it painted :)

How big is it?
Do you do a lot of calculations to figure out the angles of the slooping circles?

Wonderful ship, cant wait to see it painted :)

How big is it?
Do you do a lot of calculations to figure out the angles of the slooping circles?

Approx 10"(25cm) wide, 13" long(33cm), 4" (10cm) plus the turret height depending on the turret.

No calculations. I use a compass to get the basic curves measured from middle of the ship.

Then cut a bigger piece (image 1), trim to fit (image2), use that pieces as a template to make multiple panels (image3), stick multiple panels together to get a bigger curve slightly bending each piece to fit the curve. There are some panel misses and scrap cardboard, and that is just part of the process.

Some of the pieces may end up too long. I just end trimming them in place after which ensures a correct fit.

Hope that helps.
