Muskets & Tomahawks II - release news
« on: December 28, 2019, 09:07:34 PM »
Studio Tomahawk have announced they are releasing Muskets and Tomahawks II this February.

There's a You Tube video here:

We'll be handling the UK distribution of the English language version. In the initial release there will be the rulebook, the 1st army book covering FIW, AWI & 1812, and a card deck.

We will also be making the official figure range, and releasing the FIW figures with the game in a Nickstarter beginning January 2020.

I'll keep you informed in this thread of more news.

I really loved the 1st edition of this game. Quite excited to see what the napoleonic rules are like as well

OK.  Nice video.  But it says nothing about the cards.  Will this version use cards like the first?  If so, does one get them with
the rules book or the army supplements?

And most importantly,   is there a US distributor?

I've seen some other info on the Studio Tomahawk facebook page. Yes, it uses cards, in the same way as the first edition, but the two optional rules about having a hand of 3 cards, and sudden end of turn are in there. I believe the cards come with the period supplements.
They also seem to have moved to d10 rather than d6.

I am very much looking forward to this update.  The reloading requirement adds so much to FIW war-gaming.  Dare I say a little bit of 'realism' with having a decision to spend a turn to reload?  My group here in the Northeast very much enjoys the FIW experience that M&T's provides us... lots of troop types, hardly if any any artillery and no need to paint mounted troops!

Muskets & Tomahawks II will be released very soon, we're taking orders for it now.

The first supplement covers the AWI and the War of 1812.

Future supplements will be more into this period, the next planned being Napoleonic's and after that ACW.
