Thats excellent.  8)  And still only a mock-up  :o

The white undercoated pics looks almost like a 3D render. Can't wait to see what the real thing will look like.

That mock up is incredible. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

I spent a large amount of time early on last year playing the computer game Assassin's Creed Odyssey and this really reminds me of some of the areas of that. That was a really evocative game so I mean that as praise!

That's already looks amazing.

Also this :

Having spent the week hacking up foam board and bits of card I’ve got to where I’m happy enough with the layout of the piece that I think it should work on the table....along the way I also got enough idea of the details that will be needed to actually build it that I’m going to draw breath for a few days before starting the actual build proper...so here we are....dummy model completed....Trireme debris...
reminds me of this scene  lol

Thanks....for sure making the mock up was extra work but it served not only to fix in my mind difficulties in construction or layout....it now provides me with a blank canvas for determining the overall palette so that I can try stuff out on the mock up before committing to the final model  ;)

Also this :reminds me of this scene  lol

...cheers....but for the sake of accuracy it was more like this  lol

To bad this build did not make it to the deadline. It would have been quite something to see...

Thanks Hammers....started with all the best intentions before a life/work thing took over....all the prep is there so it WILL be happening....just not in the competition....really enjoyed the company along the way....if there’s another competition next year I’ll try for something more modest....like a phone box

This is a heck of a build. I'm really looking forward to seeing this finished! Totally understand how real life interferes but please don't abandon this project.

Thanks for the kind words Lon...yup it was just one of those things I’m afraid....once it’s done I’ll post the finished piece in the Ancients section ;) ....on the up side I now know a whole lot more about Triremes than I ever did before  :)

Hell yes, I completely understand. I had the hardest of times pulling my thumb out of my ass in the first place. But going by experience I find I get most things done under pressure. RL did not hit me until the start of this week.  For that I blame the corona virus which caused my wife to crash and burn (not because she was infected but because she is in communications for in a very popular Stockholm venue).

I am pretty sure we'll see another BSC next year. I am already thinking about cool themes.
