Studio Miniatures German Zombies on my blog
« on: January 08, 2020, 07:30:22 PM »
I painted up a hoard of Studio Miniature's  plastic Nazi Zombies for an annual convention game in 2019. I decided to do a quick review on my blog.

Wow...great job!! Such a coincidence. I just finished filing down 40 metal Nazi zombies from West Wind (that I picked up several years ago) today to be ready to prime and hopefully paint this spring. Your multi-figure base idea has got me to thinking on doing the same now...great idea!! What colour of greys did you use for the uniforms? I also picked up several WWII Warlord German sprues this year at half price to cannibalize in order to increase the horde size as well. Keep up the great work.

There's actually a mix of Army Painter's Uniform Grey primer and two custom mixes of Field Grau (both grey and a more 'correct' greenish). Towards the end of the year I started using the Army Painter primer to speed things up.

Thanks. I will have to wait until I can get to the USA as no one sells it in my neck of the woods.

Very nice zombies.
No need to travel to the US as they are based in the UK.

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

soooooo true!

Many years back when my FLGS was pushing SOTR (good times) the shop owner gave us a mini campaign of games and one needed 20 zombies to hunt and kill as part of the scenario, as you killed the zommers you wrote down the numbers you'ld killed and at the end of the game we rolled a D20 with the number that coincided with one players zombie kills being the body which had the secret plans (or whatever) and they then got extra VP for it

we upscaled it so we had 50 zommers...which meant percentile dice and halving the result to get the lucky zombie.....and then inevitably we decided why half a percentile dice result when you could just have 100 zombies.....hence the fact my horde built up to 10 zommers (and never really stopped, current count would be about 150 i think)

As you say....you can never have too many zombies  ;)
