New Porlock (Blood & Plunder Con demo, 23Feb20)
« on: January 10, 2020, 01:43:21 AM »
Working on a small port town for Blood & Plunder. Calling it New Porlock after a little sea side village on the South West coast of England, Porlock Weir. When ever my family would visit England we always set aside a few nights to stay in this village and hike the local area.
Nearly all the elements are 3d printed as my schedule does not afford me the time for the more noble art of scratch building.

This will be the Governor or Mayor's house. It will be the only all stone house in the town. The rest will be a mix of stone and timber framed.

The dock itself will be mostly stone with 1 wooden pier (yet to be made).

The dock will be covered in cargo scatter terrain. Some will have loot markers for Pirates to grab. Most will help offer cover.

I'm also working on a small port side market. This will be adjacent to the docks and surrounded by most the buildings. I have about a 3rd of the stalls I want printed.

It’s all looking superb, this 3D printing lark seems to be all the rage , at the moment.

Thank you. I dont really see 3D printing going away anytime soon. We still haven't come close to reaching its full potential. I just hope the traditional terrain making skills are not lost along the way.

Thankyou. Yes the ship is 3d printed. I have more pictures of it in here, look for "28mm Frigate". Also i did a brig and posted pictures "Brig pirate hunter" or something like that.
Yeah didn't bother changing tablecloth for pictures lol.

Printed and painted this up for the town. Adds some character to the town but can also be used for missions. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1340185

Lovely building. Porlock needs no introduction to any lover of English literature, however....

My amazing wife of 8 years, who has always supported my hobby, asked if she could start helping me paint and for me to teach her. As this project has loads of terrain bits to work on I was all to happy to except her help. With a little bit of instruction on dry brushing and color choice her task was to paint the stone docks and WOW did she deliver.

The file for these came from Printable Scenery.

While she was working on the docks I got to work on some Long Boats and Cargo scatter bits.

These files all came from Thingivers.

Here is a sample shot of the setup:
