Too Green?? Too Dark? Modern British Armour (Page 2)
« on: January 12, 2020, 08:15:56 PM »
Hi folks

Trying my hand once again at 20mm moderns, specifically trying to capture camo at that scale as realistically as possible. I dug some Elhiem minis out the loft and made a test try on a Bundeswehr soldier, tell me what you think of him so far...

Yes Brummie, that is nice work. I'm too chicken to even TRY camo at any scale.

Looks really good you’ve got the colour of the camouflage spot on 👍

I'd say you've hit it square on! Now for the rest of the gruppe  ;)

Thanks chaps!! Very chuffed so I've decided to make a start on the rest of the squad.

Camo is without a doubt one of the worst things to paint. Luckily Eurekas paint guide helped me with the Bundeswehr but I doubt I'll get that lucky with the modern Italians I've just discovered.  :?

Some more progress on the squad. Now waiting for some flora I can add to their bases to make them look in theatre...

Another mini project I'm working on next to the 20mm Germans. I seem to have a bad habit of collecting anything I see that's Post 1945 to the Present day, as I virtually spent my entire University life studying "Modern" wars. I'm a real sucker for GHQ minis (though I have some Heroics and Ros to fill in the gaps).

I decided it's time to make a start on my USMC force, and get them ready for a planned campaign against a resurgent rogue A.I (anyone remember the 1980s film Wargames and the loosely based PS1 game Wargames Defcon 1??)

Anyway similar to the Bundeswher I'm giving camo a go. Here is the first Abrams test.

I know the feeling (there is a box in the loft...).

Nice job.

Cheers Chaps!

6 & 20mm will be the main feature, although there will defo be some 28mm and occasionally some 15mm too!

Today I finished the bases on my Bundeswher Squad, may add a different type of flora later but I'm happy with them now. Started work on their first battle taxi!
