Imperial Guard Marine Battalion 1812 - Russian, of course
«

So I'm thinking enough of odd foreign guard units lets add one of our own. But as usual I dither about colour details. As I understand the following is correct for the Equippage Bn
The Guard marines have Usual Green Jacket, with dark green collar, with Guard litzen in yellow, and cuffs - piped white and follow Jager rules for white/green trousers, which are piped white on the outer seam. They have black webbing, knapsack, leather work and musket sling (also per Jager).
The shako, which is shown as the flared, concave '1812' pattern, has green pom-pom. The badge is an imperial eagle surmounting crossed anchors, a cartouche of which is repeated on the ammo pouch. White cords and flounders (red for artillery section)
I am going with red shoulder straps/epaulettes.
Would that be accurate summary?
What I am really in the dark over is
Did they wear plumes? I am thinking no but... did they have a company of 'Grenadier/Sharpshooters' ? And if so would any of them worn a plume?
Any standards/flags??
Thanks
John

I am reminded of this painting of the Lifeguard Marines in 1814--hope it helps.

1. The badge on the shako.
6. The drummer of 1811
7. Non-commissioned officer 1811
8. Chief Officer 1814
9. Sailor 1814
Chief Officer 1812
Sailor and gunner of the Guards Naval Crew of 1812
In general, the Guards sailors wore the uniform of the Guards light infantry. A characteristic feature is that trousers have always been worn over boots.

What kind of banner the sailors had before 1814 is not known. We can only assume that this was the usual “white” banner of the army model (according to indirect information collected by the reenactors club of this unit)
In 1814, the Guards Crew received the award St. George Banner.
(Blue award ribbons - even later.)

Absolutely BRILLIANT, thanks for the information.
Once again the collective triumphs
However just to confirm what I am seeing. The Marines of the Guard do
not
have white piping on coat turnback or trouser seams, unlike line Marine regiments. But do have the piping on cuff and collars. And not a single plume in sight.
Cheers
John

There was no plume on the shako.
Trousers are not infantry, but a marine (ship) model. No piping. Marine infantry regiments - a Marines (soldiers intended for landing assault forces). The Guards Crew is the crew of the Tsar ship, real sailors.
Another nuance I forgot to mention. The jacket does not have a fold. This is a sailor's jacket, not an infantry uniform.
Sorry, I do not know the correct English terms
Jacket sailor and non-commissioned officer.

So a sort of pea jacket. No tails
And really sailors, okay got that. Their artillery will be good then
