Vendéan War 15mm
« on: January 13, 2020, 01:01:26 PM »
Thanks to some excellent advice on this forum I've been able to collect and paint a Vendéan force for Rebels and Patriots.  Hopefully they will see action soon. There more pic's on my blog and some thoughts on Vendéan historical tactics on my blog if that's of interest.

Most interesting! Your Vendean flags are much better than mine, might have to revisit them. I look forward to tales of how your little rebels do in action.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Those look great.

I am working on this very same project, using the Blue Moon 18mm range of French Revolutionary Wars. They even have two bags of Vendeans - one bag all musket armed and one bag with half-pikes, farm implements, etc.

Only thing I might not be able to figure out is where I can get some Vendean cavalry. I know they didn't have many anyhow though and they weren't exactly battle cavalry.

Love the flags too!

Thanks, I enjoyed putting them together.

The cavalry are tricky.  I converted some Irregular Miniatures Napoleonic Maltese and 1798 Irish by extending hat brims with green stuff.  I'm not really happy with them.  If I were to do it again I'd go for head swops using the Vendéan infantry heads with broad brim round hats.
