28mm Technicals?
« on: January 17, 2020, 01:58:20 PM »
I've been trying for find some Toyotas or similar to use as Technicals for the A-Stan, but my Google Fu seems weak. I know Force of Arms did one at one time, and Stan Johansen Miniatures has one as well, but are there any others worth considering?

Pretty sure Empress miniatures does technicals. Spectre miniatures also does technicals but who knows whether they will have them in stock or not? Or you could try diecast depending on what miniatures you are using. I think 1:50 scale diecasts work well with the Spectre Miniatures range.

Empress Technical with ZSU23-2 with Agents Scarlet and Blue.

A Spectre Technical Bravo (unassembled) and an Empress Technical.

Though designed for "rescaling" Airfix kits, I have an Empress British Modern crew I thought would make a good crew for the Empress WW2 Jeep.

Thanks Steve. That Empress one looks like it could suit my Afghanistan needs just fine.

Spectre Miniatures has some interesting vehicles but they seem to be sold out of everything or it's pre-order. Are they no longer trading? Or just having trouble keeping stock?

Difficulties producing enough stock I've heard.

That said they're apparently starting to outsource vehicle production so hopefully that issue will be resolved in time.

Hope the figures get the same treatment as anytime I go to get something half of its never available   :(

Hmmm..... thanks Brummie. Frustrating as a customer, but glad they're looking at fixing the issue.

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Thanks, it's a sweet little model, especially for a couple of quid. ;)
