Painted: Zombie Town - The Facility
« on: July 18, 2009, 04:12:15 PM »
I don't know if you remember the wonderful asylum produced by Zafarelli from a year or so ago. I loved it so much I asked Jens for the plans and built my own. A 6mm MDF shell with lots of Pardulon, Copplestone and Eureka accessories. Still some work to do with various posters and signage to put up - but I thought I'd share.

A plucky investigator explores:

Making notes

Lunatics take over the asylum

Doctor Price 'assists a patient'

The Brass inspect the project

The experiment

Well spotted! This has been building up for a looooong time, so you may have seem them in earlier posts. But Dags did most of the minis and some of the Eureka desk bits and Copplestone high tech lab furniture. Mark Dixon a cracking job did the pipe work, CC filing cabinets, generators and weird science table) and most of the Pardulon lockers and workbenches, and CC med lab bits by me. A couple of the scientists (Pulp and RAFM) are older work by the delightful Alan Ward.

Very nice. The walls are 6mm MDF board? How large is it overall? I can see that this is part of a larger board.

Each board (there are two) is 16" square and made from 6mm MDF. The flooring is fine sandpaper.

That's a really good job you've done there. Looks great. Would it be possible to have the plans you mentioned?

Jens sent my lots of pics which are under his Zafarelli folder in the LAF Galleries and then I planned out from there. I adapted a few things here and there as his original boards were a little different.

Not sure if I still have the drawings, as I think they have gone to my dad (a carpenter) who built the boxes for me. In fact thinking about it, I simply drew it out on the MDF once I had the dimensions.

Happy to measure things up and send drawings if it helps though.

Now this is one fine board. I really like the combination of accessories, and the extra stuff on the desks.
