pixelgeek's Pulp Sci-fi project
« on: January 18, 2020, 11:49:26 PM »
So with the new year beginning it is time to start another project. Last year I built two small fantasy armies to use in Sage: Age of Magic (the goblins are almost finished) and this year I have decided to build some crews to use to play Galactic Heroes and perhaps 7TV Pulp.

The intent of this new project is to paint some figures and build some terrain so I can run multi-player games with my friends without them having to buy into the project. Given the small miniature requirements for GH that shouldn't be a problem.

The terrain is more of an issue but I have some plans to expand my collection with some suitably pulpy pieces.

Some more comments about the crews are on my blog.

So I have the start of the first four teams for my Galactic Heroes four-player game. I am going to give these traits and abilities a good look-over before beginning to work on the cards.

I have a basic idea for the scenario which will have specific (yet related) victory conditions for each team.

Thanks. I want to run a test game soon so I am working on some teams using my old AT43 minis. Here is the first draft of the cards

Cool, I like the design of your cards. What programme are you using to do them? Gimp?

I am using an app called Sketch to create the backgrounds. Then that gets imported into InDesign for the type.

An update on the cards. Now at 100% instead of enlarged

Not the best photo, and not the best paint job, but here are the first Imperials that I have finished. Next round of painting I will look into bodging together a heavy weapon trooper from some of the bitz I have

Are you sure about that Pirate captain's name? I can't seem to find anything remotely similar listed on Soda Pop minis old KS pages.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

It's "Wildspace" Gabe, a KS exclusive during their original Relic Knights Kickstarter.

Oh that's the one that's based on Gabe from Penny Arcade, IIRC.

Thanks for the tip.

Yup. There were two of them. I only ever managed to get my hands on Gabe

The long process of doing data entry for the cards begins. I have about half of them done in InDesign.
