Another one Rangers os Shadowdeep

I use my Picts as Gnolls, & used Vikings as Cultists. I have got Undead though so that helps, plastic spiders & flies can be bought from eBay dirt cheap

Is there any conceptual difference between the Rangers of Shadow Deep V.1 and the deluxe edition? What is the difference (I've seen neither)

Seems you're in a similar situation to me. I too am coming back to fantasy gaming after a long sabbatical. I bought the deluxe edition and the main difference is that it incorporates a few newer rules and also includes a full (9 game) adventure. Like Malebolgia, I got the pdf and got it printed and bound at a local joint but I might get the actual printed book too.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

OK, so I'm going to be at Vappa on Sunday.

Does anyone know of anyone who will be carrying Rangers of Shadow Deep?

If I've got enough dosh left after filling out my list I might just buy a copy and some mini's too.

I'm thinking Dave Thomas  ???

Caliver will be there too, they may well have it.

If I see someone clutching s copy and looking indecisive, I'll say hello.  :)

Burning Light yeah? That was included in the old pdf as well.

An option for quick dungeon crawls is Four Against Darkness, available from Ganesha Games (http://www.ganeshagames.net/product_info.php?cPath=1_55&products_id=330)

It is not a miniatures game, but you could easily use miniatures if you like.

I have a short overview on my blog (https://warwellwg.blogspot.com/2016/04/fun-against-darkness.html)

Many of the D&D boardgames are playable solo. I picked up Temple of Elemental Evil specifically for an easy way to get into a solo dungeon crawl. I've only played a few games so far, but have enjoyed it. Everything you need comes in the box

I prefer to buy my own mini's and paint them myself- it's a big part of the hobby for me. I expect I could do that anyway.

One solo fantasy game that hasn't been mentioned is Studium CMLXV's "Blood on the Blade" which also offers an add-on "Blood in the Dungeon.

The main rules are currently available free at https://www.wargamevault.com/product/239683/Solo-Skrimish-Rules-Collection-BUNDLE along with the sci-fi version.

I've read through the rules and like them though I haven't actually had a game yet.

I don\'t know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

I’ll endorse Five Leagues - it has a built in campaign structure and will create random missions. Your followers can be fun too - my party had a wolfblood (who seemed useful but was cut down on turn 1), a merchant with a duelling sword, a wandering nomad archer (who also got chopped) and a loyal but deranged retainer.

Thanks guys.

The only differences are the slightly updated rules (which are available as a free PDF download) & the updated spell list from Temple of Madness as well as new maps etc & a nice shiny new cover  :D

Sally 4th will be there and they have the book:

A lot depends on your style of solo gaming; Five Leagues and Dungeon Scum both have quite a lot of random tables for stuff. Rangers of Shadowdeep is, I think, more scenario driven and has less stuff to help you create a game on the fly. It does of course come with ready written scenarios
