Star Wars Galactic Heroes
« on: February 04, 2020, 11:17:00 PM »
I've just finished my first game using the Fistful of Lead - Galactic Heroes rules and I'm very pleased!

The setup was four squads of Stormtroopers.  Two standard (advanced comms), one snow (armoured) and one scout (ranger) in a training scenario.
A suitable scattering of terrain was used with larger ones to the outside, getting smaller to the centre.  Each squad had to have a model in base contact with a moisture evaporator and another touching the centre piece with no other models within 5 inches to claim victory.

Mid-game with the Snows top right just advancing past the shield generator fully in the open using their armour and flamer to good effect, Stormies top left and bottom left and Scouts bottom right.

Long range inaccurate blaster fire does exactly what it says on the tin.  Bugger all.

One of the Stormies playing peek-a-boo with the Snowtrooper leader and getting kicked in the pods for his troubles, then the snows went on to win the game wondering what all the fuss about cover was all about.

MVP was my Stormie heavy blaster trooper who ran out of ammo and then went and pistol whipped two Scout troopers to death with his heavy blaster in hand to hand!

Looking forward to some more scenarios if I can keep the momentum running at the club.

Here is my crashed speeder progress following from the BSC2020, just a bit of paint added and a bunch of details that are hard to spot.

found this project amongst my desk and did some more work.  A bit late for the competition and still some more to go. :D

Pilot safety is paramount.

Well parked speeder, one careful owner.

Who put that tower there?

Poor Gonk.

The 'careful' owner.

Well parked.

Nice battle report and really interesting to hear about the Galactic Heroes, I was super interested in to hear about this game, since I have contemplated buying it my self. I have had the urge for a Star Wars miniatures game for many years, but didnt get in to Legion until recently (for some very odd reason), and before I know of Legion I took a look at this game after having seen it in action on various Facebook groups. I think I will get it anyway, if for instance Legion stops being supported or something.
Btw, your table looks good, love the crashed speeder! :)

A question, are force powers included in the basic rules?
Tintin - Pulp Adventures in a orderly fashion
Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar

Cheers all.

@Galland, there are 'psionic' powers in Galactic Heroes that work well in a number of genres, from Dune Zwizak'Haderak, to Jedi rock tossing to Star Trek Betazoid empathy.

If there isn't something to your taste, the rules are good enough to adjust to suit you with house rules.

Game looked like fun! The Baron recently released a Bigger Battles variant. We have been using Galactic Heroes for Star Wars for a while now. Recently picked up the Bigger battles and ran a Clone wars game. Small game with about 4 squads each and a Hero. Clones lost in a close fought game. It last about 90 minutes. We loved the new rules! Much bigger games will be coming!

Tahnks.
