Shuttle Alpha.
« on: February 05, 2020, 08:12:00 PM »
So I went all fanboy on Nozza_uk's Star Trek Shuttle Post and ordered a shuttle from https://www.proteus3dmodelling.com/
It is a very cool piece.  I am posting progress on my blog.  I am very happy with the service from Proteus and the quality from 2nd dynasty.

If anyone has questions about the model let me know.  I can post pictures of each part on request.

Thanks for the replies.

That Chimera looks huge.  It would be nice but I have no space for one.

I have test painted the nacelles and engine bells.  I was testing the modelling masking tape as much as the paintjob itself.  I am pretty happy with it.  The only thing I really need to do is pick up a new pot of white paint that closer matches the base primer.   Once the rest of the exterior is finished it will get a treatment of chipping and several treatments of oils and powders.

Oh! That's going to look fine!

I'm getting a distinct Chris Foss feeling from that paint job; can't wait to see the finished result... 8)

This.

Should be enormous with a planet hanging over it for maximum Foss effect.

Really nice start. What's the front cockpit like?

Really clean print there!  Also the paint scheme is giving lots of Gerry Anderson vibes.

Base paint on the bottom is pretty much done.  Just some minor touchups to go.  I will do all weathering once the top is painted.

Hope you like.

Looks pretty swish; I am digging the colour scheme.

Are you planning on a fairly colourful look at the end or will it be dulled down by the weathering?
