Are you planning on a fairly colourful look at the end or will it be dulled down by the weathering?
Thanks for looking.  The plan is to make this a workhorse so it will be reasonably dirty chipped and weathered.

I had time to base coat and mask the top today.

Hope you like.

Looks cool, can't wait to see it weathered.

I have started working on the interior.  I am working with a new colour pallet and still have touch ups to do.

Took a photo of the logo on the tail.

Nice choice of colour.

Out of interest is there a story behind the shuttle...did you just pick colours and logos you liked or does it have a backstory?

No story.  My inspiration for the paint came from the old 70s Sci-fy spaceship paintings from Chris Foss or Peter Ellison.  The design on the tails came from two different shaped punches that I used with masking tape.  I do not have a big catalogue of decals so I needed a design that I could reproduce easily.
Punches are similar to these.

Awesome still.  What is the red base colour?

Thanks for the comps all.
What is the red base colour?
Gold acrylic spray paint "Blood Orange" number 2095 painted over white primer. It comes off slightly stronger red than the current GW Wild Rider Red.  I picked my can at Hobby Craft for seven pounds.  I have never looked for it when I lived in the States so it may only be here in the UK.

What did you use for that interior 'mint choc-chip ice cream' kind of green? Looks really good.
