Painting samurai - Ronin Kenshin
« on: February 10, 2020, 11:38:43 AM »
My resolution for the year was to paint something fun between every project, and what better than one of rokurota's awesome samurai character minis! I started with this fella because he's the one I'm not familiar with, and it's the first time painting unarmoured samurai, so he's the guinea pig! Stuck to the anime-styled colouring a little bit but couldn't get myself to paint the hair orange...  :P

I also used a wet palette for the first time and played around with mixing paints (which I don't normally do a lot of) and ended up with something very different from how I normally paint. Not happy with the skin, but otherwise it was a fun experiment and a really nice sculpt to work with!
