I have a mini-review of Oathmark's goblin wolf riders, about experiences I had while painting them for Kings of War.

Thanks Jambo the first. I too now have a globe - which is something I knew nothing about previously!

That's a bit obscure. But thanks for the info.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Bought two boxes of wolf riders myself and the six metal goblin riders with plastic wolves.

Lack of fur is a bit strange but they paint up well. Gaps are probably the biggest issue. Vallejo plastic putty dealt with most of the problem but you still have to be careful that washes don't follow the lines.

The goblins themselves are great.

Have to say I'm really liking them. They'll make six regiments for Kings of War which will be the base of a new goblin army. I have painted half the total so far and am well on the way to finishing the other half - I'll throw up some pictures when I get them all sorted.

i find it odd that people keep[ saying "lack of fur" about the wolves, but never complain about "lack of hair" on horse figures, which have similar smooth sculpts. the oathmark wolves actually look more like real wolves to me than most fantasy ones. because the oathmark wolves have relatively normal looking summer coats (short hair that looks fairly smooth when clean over most of the body) while typical fantasy ones are stuck in long winter coats that apparently have been constantly dipped in water and mud leading to a ragged look.

Found a rough snap of my first batch.

I agree with you on the fur Mithril in most respects. Wolf fur is probably on par with horse hair. I am going for a winter look though so would have liked a little more texture.

I think the back leg fur texture looks a bit strange. It just kind of stops when it looks like the texture should continue or thin out to nothing.

Minor issue though. Cool kit at a good price.
