I recently received a copy of Steve Brown's book covering the campaign of Sir Charles Grey and Sir John Jervis to the West Indies in 1794.

That is a fine review.  It was interesting to read of another experienced commander who favoured the bayonet over fire power and demonstrated its efficacy.

Yes indeed, Grey does stand out as a remarkable commander in many ways, described as he was as being a very pleasant person to meet and a gentleman in polite company but a commander with a fierce determination to win when conducting military affairs.
