AAR35 of The Uwand-Mugabia War (African Imagi-Naions)
« on: February 16, 2020, 04:40:39 PM »
I posted the latest AAR on my blog for my African imagi-nation conflict, the Uwanda-Mugabia War at:

http://irishserb.blogspot.com/2020/02/aar35-turning-point.html

The game was played with 6mm miniatures with 1 to 1 vehicle representation and home brew rules.

Hope it might be of some interest, and thanks for looking.

Fantastic work mate!

I always love your battle reports, and find your force organisation to be an inspiration for my own imagi-Nations.

Many thanks guys!!

I need to get the strategic stuff caught up, and see where things go on the tabletop.

What I don’t get, is that your blog mentions the games in 15mm, but this one is in 6mm ?
Did I miss a trick somewhere ?
Just can’t get over the scenery. It really looks so right.

If memory serves, he did a switch a few years back from 15s to a smaller scale.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Yeah, that's a good point about the 15mm/6mm thing.  Like commisarmoody said, I switched over a while back from 15mm to 6mm, because as the campaign went from border skirmishes to a more proper war, I ended up with battles that were potentially going to have 130 plus vehicles, and battalions of infantry.  I couldn't fit that on my table in 15mm, so decided to duplicate everything in 6mm to accommodate the larger battles.  My expectation was/is that through attrition the battles would get smaller, and I'd go back to 15mm, or alternate between scales as the size of the battles dictated.

Originally, I expected to be able to switch over in about 4 months, but it took like 14 months to play my first Afrcia game in 6mm, as duplicating my 15mm buildings in the smaller scale took forever.  I also got distracted with a huge Cold War hot project during that time.

In any event, the last few ground battles, and the air to air battles have been in 6mm.  All of the ground battles through the first 30 or so battles were in 15mm scale.

I've got all of the battles link on a page at (scroll down to the second section for the battle links):
