Captured officer vignette
« on: February 18, 2020, 01:02:49 PM »
I am on something of a roll with painting small vignettes.  It's a nice break from production line painting of line regiments.  And this charming one has always been on my list to paint.  A very interesting group of figures and uniforms.  But something about the set looked, well,  like there was much more to the story.  And after a bit of asking around here is the story I found out.  This is from Giles Allison's blog, Tarleton's Quarter.

As the large (let's leave it at that) German officer in the group, I recall the "construction process" only too well!

And, after a mere 15 years of pestering, we will soon (we have been promised) be getting the Foot Guards figures that we were asking him for!
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Had you had a few curries before your modelling session...?

I painted the obligatory bald-patch on my version of Dave (along with the Gosling Green facings of the 5th, to reflect his old beret)...  lol

QRF very kindly immortalised me in lead as a speccy-four-eyed, confused-looking Cold War Crab... With appropriately ill-defined modelling and casting...  ;)

OK, large AND smelly.  Happy now?
