Frankly it's Lost and Found Foundry Franks!
« on: February 19, 2020, 04:27:56 PM »
After much figneting (new word) about on the keyboard and registering an old email address with Photobucket I managed to extract some old pics of a unit of Wargames Foundry Franks I painted up a while ago.

The pics are especially relevant as I'm about to enter into a new project that involves the same forces, though not the same range of miniatures.

They are not painted in what is normally my style, though I am very pleased with the results- albeit from a while ago.

You can see more close up pics on my blog here:

Very nice indeed - great figures. What are the shield colours and designs based on? I really like the effect.

My imagination  lol.

Seriously though, the unit was speed painted so I just made up the designs as I went, which kind of went against all I held dear at the time  lol

I've just dug out another 32 Foundry Franks that I didn't know I had which I'd love to paint up in the same same style as the unit above, if Imy eyes can still cope! It's just not possible to paint at speed with a whopping great Optivisor on my head  lol

Only one problem about the Franks, they have no shields and I love those Foundry convex shields. Now £12 for ten if the rest of their shield range is anything to go on..... ho hum.....  >:(

EDIT: I might give Foundry a ring tomorrow and ask if they can chuck in some extra shields if I buy X amount of warriors.

Lovely!

Wish I could speed paint to that standard.

I like the muted palette on the shield designs. They contrast well with the more vivid banner design.

Thanks Thew1. :)

I cannot take credit for the banner as it is from LBMS Transfers.

Thanks Rick.  :)

The idea was to tie the unit together.
