New Star Trek figures range announced
« on: February 25, 2020, 08:42:03 AM »
Might be of interest to someone, another range of Star Trek figures recently announced at Toy Fair 2020.

An upcoming line of 2-inch tall "army men"-style plastic figurines, representing the various crews of StarTrek and their adversaries.

Made by Fanwares. Anybody know much about them? Wrong scale for me though  :(

Everyone except people that play 54mm, which is the only scale for real gamers.

These look cool, which sucks.  I don't need more things to buy!

Depending on price I'll be all over these.

Yes, pricing will be very interesting. If they are cheaper than Modiphius, then I would be all over these for some skirmish gaming...

I wish someone would make ships and minis from the Wrath of Khan era.  Those were fantastic.  Not sure why they're not more popular.

I would take the TWOK uniforms over the Discovery ones anyday!

Which ships did you have in mind? I can only recall 2 Federation and 2 Klingon designs from the TOS movies, and to my knowledge all 4 are reasonably well represented among various model lines (old micro machines, wizkids, Eaglemoss, etc.)

I mostly meant the style.

Enterprise A, Excelsior, Grissom, Miranda, Abbe, stuff like those.

And paintable minis with decals, FASA quality.

Afaik there are quite a few sellers of TOS ship models and „inofficial“ hommages to those models.

What is indeed missing are models in the respective uniforms. Modiphus might save the day, or you simply switch to 15mm (always a good choice) and just paint the uniforms respectively. There was the awesome Astro Miniatures line (of which I have no idea who if anOne owns them now), but CP models have started to release not-Trek models in 15mm.

I can see myself building some nice little dioramas with the figures, I can't wait to get my hands on them.

I have most of their Fallout line and they are pretty cool.
From what I see here, the same formula will be applied, about 12 regular sized figures and a larger one in a single boxset, in this case the larger mini will be a ship instead of a Deathclaw. :)
In the Fallout line they made "figures" of some of the accessories like a Power Armor Helmet or the Pip Boy which is nice to display i guess, but hasn't much play value. Maybe as an objective marker.

From what we've seen from Toy Fair, only boxsets will be produced, but in the Fallout line, the figures were also available in classic bagged sets of 12 figures.

They also made two small Gears of War sets of six figures. One in solid colors, the other one is glow in the dark.
