Captain Blood's bloodsuckers
« on: February 28, 2020, 05:44:29 PM »
Thought I would corral all my Highgate Miniatures vampires into one thread...  :)

These ones just finished... This is the second pack of Fledglings, plus 'the ingenue' (mwuhahaha) from the 'Vampire Queens' pack.
I can honestly say these are some of the finest figures (in both senses of the word) that I've ever had the pleasure of painting. Simply incredible sculpting by Matthew Bickley.

Here come the girls...

I love these two... Paddy McGinty, Irish vampire, and a sea captain - the master of the ill-fated Demeter, perchance?
(Although I also think he'd make a great Michael Henchard, the Mayor of Casterbridge... If anyone in Hardy was going to come back as a vampire... 'That I be not bury'd in consecrated ground... ' Brrrr. Best will and testament in literature).

And these were the ones already completed...

Vampire Lords...

Character studies...

Fledglings 1
The football is my own addition :D
(The blonde fledgling in blue at the top of the page nearly got one too... They could have had a match).

Mis-en-scene...

I'm liking the grimy shading and clean highlights on the fledglings as opposed to the clean shading on the vampires, nicely done.

No stripes on the trousers though! It’s just plain wrong!  lol
