This is a fantastic thread. Thanks for sharing your work.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Excellent thread. I really enjoy seeing process. Really cool stuff!!!!
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Thanks Chaps .
I'll pop a few more on just for the hell of it tomorrow (admittedly I've got to check what I've already posted so I duplicate pictures.)

It's quite a perceptive observation. I've worn several hats before picking up clay. Each has had some pretty grim moments .Doddling was something I started doing to avoid the history lessons by being too knackered to awoken by them.
Plus working nightshifts helped.Clay pushing has sort of replaced doodling. It's now just a way of working out and noting down idea's.
I don't think I've that many sketches left from back then.As I tended just to throw them away .I seem to remember a weird stage of making book marks for people (found a laminating machine in the duty room one night.)
I'll see if I can find a few more sketches whilst I'm photographing the work sketches. As I think there might be a few in with my webbing . I think that's were most things from that time got dumped or shoved once the kids joined cadets.
Mark.

That would be wonderful.
And good explanation, it suggests, and I believe it to be true havi g seen your work that you have a personal style; my old art lecturer always said that there was no point being a good draftsman when you lack style. However this can be learned thing as an artist gains more confidence.
