The battle rages around Madonna dell'Olmo!
The small French battalion fights doggedly and stays in place!

Croats and Austrian Grenadiers hurl themselves on the redoubts of the village entrance, but the French throw them back!

Greg finds a vulnerable point between Madonna dell'Olmo and our center and makes some good progress

His elite cuirassiers eliminate a Spanish battalion, then make our second line cavalry reserve fall back with four hits, before them also retreating with 4 hits to reform behind the Austrian infantry lines. If only he could widen this gap...

These elite Austrian cuirassiers, before retreating to reform managed even to penetrate up to the first line of dismounted dragoons and maul them to elimination.
Only the second line of dismounted dragoons was able to stem their furious charges!

Greg tried to widen the gap attacking the Franco-Spanish center.
Studded with one batteriy on each side, they stood as a stone wall and had the better of it in the firefight, as the Austro-Savoian dared to make only one charge.
Their elite Swiss and their grenadiers were thrown back with 4 hits, Greg managed to bring them back for a second assault, but the end of the game was close.

Our extreme left:
With the presence of foot and artillery nearby from both sides, the opponents' cavalries were forced to a standstill

Pictures from the last round show that the Franco-Spanish held Madonna dell'Olmo and Tetto San Giacomo and their center remained intact.
The Franco-Spanish had more casualties, but held all their objectives.
Losses for both armies stayed far from their breaking point.
