My process is pretty similar although maybe with one or two fewer steps :)

Glad you’ve got yourself motivated again. Lulls do happen. Sometimes it’s best to just wait until the mood takes you again. I’ve had plenty of lay offs for several weeks at a time. Several months in one case. Just didn’t feel like it. But once a painter, always a painter. It always seems to come back in the end.

Mine too but I use GW metals, well, actually six shades of GW metals that I've tinkered with myself

Good advice. In my case it was more than a few years  ::)
