While they are mostly North Africa specific, Askari Miniatures also has a range of Italians, as well as colonial troops.

Just a quick update...
Started on my Albanian Auxiliaries to accompany the Italians.
Figures are Warlord, the ones with separate heads.
The heads are mostly off Nick at North Star, from early war French range, (thanks Nick)
I think the plastic heads are by warlord, I think? They were a gift!
Photo below is all the Albanian regulars I intend to use,
A command section,
2 X full squads of 10
and a mortar.

Excellent start!  I plan on building some units of Libyan troops for North Africa army, but I have told myself I need to finish painting the infantry I have before I get more...but I keep buying vehicles instead.

Off to a great start with those guys.

Great thread.

I'm slowly working on Italian Airborne for Chain of Command.  I plan to paint up the two different squads in different schemes for a platoon...one for N. Africa and one for Sicily.

Thanks for posting.

I am sorry to rain on your parade, but there were no Airborne deployed in Sicily. Folgore was destroyed in North Africa and was being rebuilt in Sardinia when Husky happened

Ok then painting one up for North Africa and the other for the eastern front, or counter insurgency operations once Italy switiches sides in the war.  :D

Or you can use them against the Germans, the Nembo was part of the CIL, Corpo Italiano di Liberazione, and fought some hard battles in the Summer of 1944. The most important was probably Filottrano, when they fought against the Fallschirmjaeger holding the village: https://en.difesaonline.it/evidenza/eventi/73-anni-dalla-storica-battaglia-di-filottrano

Just saw the thread:
1.- Alpini Italians. Brigade games do have a range of WW1 Italian alpine, which may be used.
http://brigadegames.3dcartstores.com/WWI--Italian-Front_c_208.html
They even have in some command group one of those famous "carabinieri" police,
2.- Bersaglieri. The warlord games ones can also be used for Europe using appropriate colour scheme.

For additional Greeks consider the Burns miniatures 28mm range

I just checked and they have some still available

Thanks for those links, I’ll check them out.
I’m thinking of keeping this thread going with updates on the progress of this unusual force.
So far you can see the Albanian regulars above (which have just been under coated this morning!)
I want to add a few Albanian scout type figures, which I’ll probably use Crusader Partisans for, only 6 or so figures.
Then it’s actual Italian units.
Funnily enough those are the only figures I’m undecided on,
I’d like a M13/40 as this is a cool tank and should give my Greek force some concern.
After that...?

Update,
Test paint on the mortar team.
I’m reasonably happy with the result.
I have to say that the Warlord figures are quite nice, but delicate.
I’m thinking I may go for Blackshirts as my additional units, possibly waiting to see what the new plastic Italian box set looks like?
It’s obviously been delayed in production for the moment.
I’ve got plenty to go at for the time being!
