Medieval Free Company - artillery added
« on: July 24, 2009, 06:44:23 PM »
I've decided that I'll be constructing and painting a Free Company army for Impetus. Even though ancients and medievals aren't generally posted around here I thought you guys might enjoy seeing them.  The Corvus Belli models are exquisite to paint.

I like medievals. You can be very colorful with some of the shield designs and such. And these look great painted up.

Thanks for sharing!

We band of brothers can stand anything, even the reality of historical stuff. ;)
Honestly, I appreciate such entries as they show the variety of interests and excellence on this great forum. Your minis are very neat, especially at this scale. As much as I love what people do with 15mm I can't cope with anything smaller than 25mm. Maybe one day...  ::)

PS: Allowed myself to add your site to the linklist of my own blog. Amazing stuff there. :-*

I love seeing masterfully painted ancients and medieval armies on LAF--your figures look exceptionally awesome!

I particularly like your subdued metallics. Would you mind sharing your technique?

Truthfully, I hadn't even twigged these were 15mm. I thought they were 28s.

I'd like to revise my opinion up from lovely work to superb work, given the small scale.

Bravo!  :)

WOW!! Had me fooled too. I thought they were 28mm. Since they are 15mm with that type of detail....very well done sir, very well done indeed!! :o

Sorry guys. I should have been more specific.  These are indeed 15mm models by Corvus Belli.  If you have never seen their range, you're really missing out: http://www.corvusbelli.com/en/02_tiendacorvus.asp

I'm rather floored by the compliments, especially considering some of the very skilled painters they are coming from.  Thanks very much.  I am quickly finishing off a 10mm Carthaginian army for Impetus, but I'll be back at these guys in very short order and will continue to post updates as I progress.
